The problem with modern fillers which, some say, are easy to work and even though we can sand and plane them to get a perfectly smooth repair. we will not stop the mend being seen in certain lights. This is because the resin filler reflects light through the paint at a different wave length to the plaster around and below. So at certain angles it can be seen on the plaster work.
Not so with lime plaster conservation filler. The filler is made of completely natural lime and earth materials and is essentially the same material as the original plaster. It is both compatible with your building and is perfect for anyone who has fine cracks in the lime plaster which need filling.
It deals with zero to 2mm wide cracks it deals with well, 5mm cracks may have to be completed with two applications.
Clear any loose material from the surface you are repairing
Lightly moisten the area with a water spray bottle
Apply a very thin layer over the repair area, use a credit card or flexible wall-paper scraper to work the material into the void you are repairing
As the filler dries, wipe of the excess with a sponge. This should produce a smooth and flush repair
Repeat the process for larger repairs (Above 2mm), building layers until the damage is completely filled
The Conservation Filler will dry within a few minutes after application, if the temperature is high. It needs to carbonate over a few hours and painting can be done in a couple of days time.
